Arzachena is a pretty town located in the Gallura area, in the north-east of Sardinia, a few kilometres from the renowned Costa Smeralda. Known for its natural beauty and historical heritage, Arzachena attracts numerous visitors throughout the year. The town is in a privileged location, surrounded by hills, mountains and beautiful white sandy beaches. Arzachena offers easy access to several enchanting beaches, such as the famous beaches of Liscia Ruja, La Celvia and Liscia di Vacca, Capriccioli... Nearby there are also sites of interest such as the enchanting church of San Giovanni Battista, which dates back to the 12th century, and the church of Santa Lucia, with its famous staircase that is decorated by a different artist each year. Inland in Gallura, about 10 km from the Gulf of Arzachena, you can visit the Tomb of the Giants of Coddu Ecchju. Legend has it that people of imposing stature lived in the surrounding area; in reality, the tombs are collective sepulchres. A visit to the Stella Maris Church is a must.
