The Barranco de la Mina ravine crosses the island of Gran Canaria towards the northeast and flows into the island's capital. La Mina has a small flow of water thanks to the centuries-old transfer of water from the Tejeda basin to the Guiniguada basin through a gallery that crosses the mountain, which is why it was christened La Mina.
