Situated only 200m from the Ocean, West Horizon offers peace and seclusion. There are wonderful walks direct from the property up into the hills beyond, including a superb walk to a small loch. The region is a haven for wildlife and deer are regularly seen close by. Osprey, eagles, seals and otters can all also be spotted in the immediate area. The region is renowned for its hill walking and climbing, and the dramatic peaks of Suilven, Stac Pollaidh, Canisp, Quinag and Ben More Assynt dominate the nearby skyline of this wild and unspoilt Highland region. Just 200 yards away is the pretty sand and stone beach of Balchladich. Continuing further along the lane leads up to Stoer Lighthouse, a dramatic promontory which provides further wild and spectacular walks, with the opportunity to spot porpoises and Minke whale which are seen along this shoreline. West Horizon holiday cottage is your home from home retreat to relax and soak up the beautiful landscape. To make your stay more comfortable we have tried to implement everything you could need during your stay. The beach is a little known gem and only a two minute walk away. The house is well equipped with a king size bed, plenty of closet space, a whirlpool bath and separate double shower, 2 x toilets, fully equipped kitchen with american style fridge freezer, large comfy sofa, wifi and ps4 (doubt needed). With a lovely quiet beach on your doorstep it provides a great start to your day. From the beach you can walk the coastal path to the Stoer lighthouse were whale and Dolphin watchers gather. Other beaches like Clachtoll are a very short drive away. Lochinver village is only 8 miles away for a cafe or suppliers. Clashnessie Falls is a 6 minute drive away. Worth a visit is Choc-O-Latté for a well earned traditional Belgian hot chocolate after your day trekking.
