A group of restored farmhouses: the essence of true Sicilian rural life. This large estate is divided into three colonial-style houses, each with its own outdoor space, garden and sea view. The property is located just two kilometres from Fiumefreddo, a small village at the foot of Mount Etna overlooking the Ionian Sea, about halfway between Catania and Taormina. The large, elegantly designed swimming pool blends perfectly with the terraces and lawn buildings. There are many shady corners for outdoor dining and relaxing, enjoying the view of the surrounding countryside and the sea. Within the property there is another annexe. Guests may only have to share the pool. Please do not hesitate to ask if you would like exclusive use of the property: we will do our best to accommodate you. The property is the perfect place to combine beach life with the tranquillity of a country house. Villa Mandarino can accommodate 4 people: the villa has a large living/dining room, a kitchen, a bathroom and 2 double bedrooms. Weekly cleaning and linen change are included in the price, with daily maid service and a cook available on request. Laundry for washing and ironing is located outside the house. For those travelling with small children (under two years), a cot and high chair are available free of charge. Guests are welcome to use herbs, fruit and vegetables from the property's organic garden. The town of Fiumefreddo is an ideal base for exploring not only the volcano, but also the many interesting towns and villages. The surrounding area offers a wide range of excellent excursions and routes: the baroque city of Noto, the quiet beaches of Vendicari and Capo Passero to the south and Messina to the north are all within easy reach for day trips. Along the coast around Fiumefreddo, there are also charming fishing villages and several beaches, including Marina di Cottone, San Marco and Fondachello (to the south). Further north, near Taormina, there is a good selection of sand and pebble beaches, rocky coves and caves: Mazzarò, Letojanni and Giardini-Naxos. Further south, towards Catania, are the charming towns of Riposto, Acireale, Aci Trezza and Aci Castello, where the coastline is rocky. An 18-hole golf course, Il Picciolo, is 10 km away, while an excellent tennis club, Circolo Tennis Le Rocce, is located in the town of Mascali, about a 10-minute drive from the villa. The property is immersed in the scents and colours of 3 hectares of orange groves, offering a splendid natural backdrop to Mount Etna and the sea. You can swim or ski while admiring the sea or explore the roads through Etna's vineyards.
