You can fish for trout in Lake Slortem, 1.3 km away, and salmon in the river Frøysetelva 4.6 km away. The nearest service point is Hosteland with a grocery store, restaurant and petrol station. Every Saturday you can buy fresh crayfish and other seafood from a fishing boat; this can be arranged in advance if you want to secure a few kilos. If you want a city experience, Bergen is only a short hour’s drive away, known for Bryggen, Fløybanen, the fish market and lots of restaurants and shopping places.
