The next largest city is Umeå or Skellefteå (70-80 km) and it is about 55 km to the sea. There is a beautiful sandy bathing beach 6 km away, where you are usually alone. In Vindeln there is the possibility to take part in a rafting tour on the river of the same name. In winter there is an illuminated cross-country skiing track in Botsmark (14 km), an alpine ski facility with lift and several runs in Bygdsiljum (25 km) and the possibility to book a dog sledding tour in Ekorrsele (75 km). In Tavelsjö (45 km), Sweden's largest natural ice rink is created every winter on the lake of the same name. There is a veranda with a coffee table and chairs.
