We had found the ideal accommodation for us for a long family weekend with children and grandchildren: sufficient space in and around the house. Communal meals at the large table, good kitchen equipment, separate bedrooms, pavilion in the garden, barbecue, large lawn for (ball) games. In addition, nice and child-friendly landlords. Thanks very much!
Our stay in this house in Benneckenstein was fantastic. The house (which occupies the entire first floor of the owner's house, and which is very spacious for a family with 3 children) is simply but cosily furnished. The kitchen is very complete, ideal. Excellent bathroom with bath, and two living rooms (1 with dining table, 1 with a large sofa). Around the house is a large garden, where the children could play (in our case, making sleds and snowmen). The owner was very nice and helpful. When we had bad luck with our car, he helped us find a garage. When it snowed, he lent us some sleds. He had good tips, and for the enthusiast: he knows a lot about the history of Benneckenstein and surroundings (for example, about the fact that the Wall ran right through the village). Benneckenstein is a quiet village compared to Braunlage (which is much more touristy). is). We found that pleasant, at the same time there are various facilities, such as a great supermarket (3 minutes walk from the house), a few restaurants, etc. The atmosphere in the village is friendly, almost everyone you meet is friendly. winter: About 4 km from Benneckenstein is a small slope (HohegeiS), Braunlage is a little further (15km) where there is also a nice ice rink. There is no slope in the village itself, but we had a lot of fun at an old ski jump , where there is another track where you can make good speed with a sled.Tip: walk from Benneckenstein to Braunlage, a beautiful route through the forest, especially when there is snow and the sun is shining beautifully!Because we had car trouble, we few trips can doen.We like to come back again for the historic places in the area, the pool and the beautiful surroundings.
We stayed in the apartment for 4 nights and were very satisfied. Due to its age, the house has its own charm. The landlords are very nice and handing over the keys as well as the stay went without any problems. The pictures with the description of the property speak for themselves: 3 bedrooms, 2 living rooms, a bathroom with tub and separate shower offer plenty of space on the 1st floor. The kitchen is new and well equipped. You don't have to worry about a parking space and the spacious garden with seating area and grill invites you to linger. A shop with a bakery can be reached in less than 5 minutes on foot. We would be happy to come back
The apartment is on the 1st floor, the landlord lives downstairs. There is also a large garden, barbecue area and parking in the courtyard. Bed linen and towels are provided. The steps on the stairs to the first floor are short and sometimes quite stepped. Probably due to the age of the house, it smells a bit "old" in the apartment. There are 3 bedrooms in the apartment, unfortunately the beds are sometimes not very comfortable. It would have to be improved. The kitchen is well equipped with all the useful. The bathroom is a bit small with a bathtub and shower. The TV is in the dining room, not in the living room as stated. Overall, the ceiling height in the apartment is quite low, taller people are likely to have difficulties there. There are paragraphs between the individual rooms, the apartment is less recommended for people with walking difficulties. We paid € 110 per night, that's a high price for the apartment. There is a supermarket with a bakery nearby, which is within walking distance is to achieve.
Nice accommodation. The furnishings are complete. The cottage was fully equipped. The manager is friendly and helpful. The ceiling is a bit low. The accommodation is close to the center. There are many hiking opportunities and beautiful towns with half-timbered houses and castles.
