Casa El Limonero

We arrived there late in the afternoon on Saturday. The house we ended up in is badly damaged, full of cracks and holes, the concrete driveway to park the car is so cracked and bad that we were not allowed to park the car there because the homeowner was afraid that the entire driveway would slide down. at the front, about 10 meters high, the stone column had torn in one place, creating a life-threatening situation. This was provisionally secured with a simple strap. The front door that could only be opened about 50 cm. Alarm that could not or could not be used. And to make matters worse, there were also three loose tiles on the 20 m high outside staircase to the entrance door And because those tiles slid away, my husband fell down with suitcase and all. With a twisted knee and bruised wrist as a result. That was the last straw for us and we left immediately the next morning after spending one night there. And Another and very irritating side effect is the enormous noise nuisance in the form of continuous dog barking. It seemed as if we were sitting next to a dog kennel. We immediately informed the manager and Belvilla of all this. They thought it was a shame and offered a tip as a compensation. They find it annoying that my husband has suffered a very nasty injury, but nothing more than that. The worst thing is that Belvilla has failed to structurally check the structural condition of the properties they rent out. customers can knowingly get into trouble. So our advice: do not make the choice for this property because your holiday will immediately be ruined if you are not careful.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday (June 2022) at Casa El Limonero and we really liked it! The detached house is located in a beautiful residential area and the area is wonderfully quiet, except for the occasional barking of the neighbor's dog (this one looks like Tintin's dog, so... we named him Bobbie ;- ). The house is large and spacious and equipped with all comforts. Everything you need in the kitchen is more than enough for 8 people. There are many kitchen appliances and a BBQ. Having a washing machine at your disposal is always nice. A TV with the familiar Dutch channels is also included. Due to the location of the house, we experienced a lot of privacy in and around the house, just like at the pool. The pool is lovely (especially during the heat wave we experienced there). And a nice thing about the house is that you can always find a place where it is pleasant to sit in the sun, shade or a cooling breeze: on the spacious balcony with a beautiful view, by the pool and even at the front of the house. We found the location of the house ideal. However, having your own transport is a requirement, but then you are also at the beach in 10 minutes, at the shops - supermarkets in abundance - or in the bustling center of Platja d'Aro. Dutch speaking. She was easily accessible via whatsapp and helped us with questions or finding a solution to a problem. In our case there was a problem with the Wifi. And points for improvement? We missed air conditioning downstairs in the house during the heat wave, although we knew that these only upstairs zijn.De beds suited us less well, but this is always personal, so not so much room for improvement.

We had a fantastic stay at El Limonero. The house is just as it looks in the photos. It is big and clean and well laid out. The terrace gets a nice breeze and is perfect for eating meals, and enjoying the amazing view. The pool is very clean and deep (over 1.90m) and perfect for our teenage children. The kitchen is also big and has everything you need. Our contact person Astrid was very helpful and got a bath mat for my elderly mother so she would not slip in the shower. The house has 3 bathrooms and 3 showers, so is perfect for larger families (wifi signal is also strong and fast!). The supermarket is a 5 min drive, and the nearest beach is less than 15 mins drive with lots of places to eat. There are several stairs to reach the house from the road (it is on a hill) so you do need to take that into account - not for wheelchair users. We will be booking here again in the future!
