Description
This beautiful detached chalet for a maximum of 6 people is located approx. 500 meters from the town of Turracherhöhe in Styria, right in the heart of the Nockberge, the natural border between Styria and Carinthia.
The chalet offers modern furnishings with a comfortable living room with a wood stove and a sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, 2 spacious bedrooms, 1 bathroom, terrace and balcony. You can park directly at the chalet (in winter you can leave your car, if there is enough snow there is a ski-in/ski-out option).
The Turracher Höhe is located 50 km northeast of Spittal an der Drau, at an altitude of 1763 m. On one side of the pass are the wild, green mountain panoramas of rural Styria, while on the other side, in Carinthia, you can enjoy the entertainment and warmth in the southern lake district of Austria. Excursions to Lake Millstättersee or Lake Ossiachersee are also among the options.
Turracher Höhe - a winter paradise from November to May with 43 kilometers of slopes and 15 cable cars and ski lifts, is one of the most diverse ski areas in the Southern Alps and one of the most snow-sure ski regions in Austria

In August 2021 we had a very relaxing stay in one of the separate houses of the Pension Alpenrose on the Turacher Höhe. Once we enjoyed the evening menu in the guesthouse 20 meters away, we fell for the culinary delight of the chef Peter and, except for a few days, allowed ourselves to be pampered with the delicious (Austrian) dishes, which were almost exclusively made from regional products. The food was also a real delight for the eyes, you could not only taste it but also see that cook Peter, together with his wife Susi (who also owns the pension), live their passion in order to give their guests a wonderful stay with a lot of heart. For the three of us with our 17-year-old son, it was a great combination to live in a separate little house with two bedrooms and a kitchen-cum-living-room and thus to be independent of the pension business and still have the option of the luxury of the excellent kitchen (breakfast buffet, lunch menu a la carte, evening menu ) to have the Alpenrose right next door and all of that in a beautiful landscape. Received very hospitable. Delicious food provided by the homeowner. Beautiful area plenty to do. Rafting, cycling, hiking, paddle boarding etc. Beautiful house neatly clean and good beds.

The welcome was very warm / accomodation very good and prakisch furnished / to emphasize is the bread service and the top chef in the Alpenrose / the environment invites all ages for hiking
Accommodation and surroundings nice and good but I have nevertheless experienced as boring
Arrival is very well arranged, nice reception, you feel immediately welcome.Huisje is very clean, despite the fact that dogs are welcome. Further equipped with all comforts. Daily fresh rolls if you wish at the door. Owner can cook very nice, four courses for little money and very good quality. Per day you can indicate whether you want to use it, absolutely no obligation. From the cottage you are within five minutes by car in the village, on foot so 15 minutes, keep in mind that the supermarkets are further, about 20 minutes by car. There are a few good, affordable, restaurant in the village. You can walk beautifully, beautiful surroundings! We will definitely come back again.
