Just a few kilometres away is the artists' village of Bergen, known for its galleries, museums and bustling terraces. Alkmaar is within easy reach for a day out in the town, with its historic town centre, canals, and famous cheese market. Beach lovers can go to Hargen aan Zee or Camperduin, where the unique lagoon is a special place for relaxing by the water.
