De Tulp

The day of arrival was delayed until midnight due to traffic jams on the A2. We were in constant contact with the landlady during the journey to hand over the keys to the bungalow. The next day we rented bikes in the neighboring town of Noordwijk Duindamseweg 6 (about 25 minutes from Duinschooten 12 Solassis bungalow) because they were too expensive from "Rent a Bike van Dan". We spent lovely days cycling, visiting Keukenhof, watching the flower parade, visiting our host family, visiting Zanse Schans and even eating in nearby restaurants. We recommend the Hudson in Noordwijkerhout. You shouldn't have eaten anything beforehand because the portions are huge. Checking out was problem-free and we agreed with the landlady of the bungalow. I will definitely come again because the little cafe on the Oosterduitsemeer has now been moved to the front of the bungalow entrance and has a new name and management: "De Voiler".

As a family, we spent lovely October days in Holland. The excursions and the weather were lovely. Unfortunately, the accommodation disappointed us. We contacted the landlords an hour before the official check-in time. Within this hour, the landlord cleaned the apartment at short notice. Unfortunately, the garbage bags from the previous tenants were still lying in the front garden, the apartment was wet, smelled very much of dog and its hair was also on the carpets. As a pet-free family, we did not expect this. Apart from that, the cleanliness could have been better in general, for example there were many large cobwebs on most of the ceiling lights and dust on the fittings. Two lamps did not work. The cooking utensils (pots, pans) were just about OK in terms of condition. We did not use the outdoor area, but it has definitely seen its best days (e.g. the seating or the trampoline). The most annoying thing, however, was that the photos in the advert did not reflect the condition of the apartment: One of the two sofas, the coffee table, the large carpet, the chairs at the dining table, and some wall pictures were different. The shower was structurally completely different. The bathroom mirror, all the bedside tables and the cupboard next to the front door were different furniture than shown in the pictures. The two side tables next to the fireplace were not there, but there was a cupboard next to the dining table. All the different furniture was significantly inferior to that in the photos here and mostly in a clearly worn condition. The outside area is also very different compared to the photos: There is a large fence directly in front of the house (at least it offers privacy). The wooden door directly at the house is no longer there. Unfortunately, it is not possible to upload user photos here - these would support the review.
