Taking or renting bicycles is a good idea. From here you can enjoy cycling through the countryside. Choose one day to go to the wide sandy beach of Egmond aan Zee. This well-known seaside resort is also where you will find nice shops and restaurants. The other day you can seek the peace and quietness of the nearby forest. Or take in culture in Alkmaar, famous for its cheese market, where you can sample a good piece of cheese and Dutch beer.
