In winter, the ski bus stops at the Grossarltal-Dorfgastein ski area, which is 7 km away by car.
The Alpendorf ski area in St. Johann im Pongau, which has direct access to the Snow Space Salzburg and Shuttleberg Flachauwinkl-Kleinarl ski areas and 210 kilometres of pistes, is highly recommended. Grossarltal is a member of Ski Amade, Austria's largest ski area, with 760 kilometres of pistes and 270 lifts. A free ski bus takes you to the cable car.
