The chalet is located right in Hohentauern, a small picturesque mountain village in Styria, at an altitude of 1,274 meters amid the impressive mountain scenery and pristine nature of the Niedere Tauern!
In winter, Styria turns into the 'white heart' of Austria with beautiful ski resorts. The Hohentauern ski area with 11 kilometers of slopes is within walking distance (the ski lift is less than 200 meters from the chalet!) and presents itself with wide, groomed slopes of all difficulty levels and numerous deep-snow variants. Other ski areas in the region include the Kreischberg/Murau ski area with 42 kilometers of perfectly prepared slopes and the Lachtal ski area with 36 kilometers of slopes and ski routes. The nearby Kaiserau ski resort in Admont is ideal for beginners and offers 3 kilometers of slopes.
The Hohentauern ski area also offers plenty of fun for cross-country skiers, with excellently prepared trails covering a total length of 18 kilometers.
In summer, the Murtal holiday region offers a wide range of hiking, mountain biking and cycling routes, 2 idyllic bathing lakes, the bathing lake Gaishorn Am See and the recreational lake Wald Am Schoberpass, and several thermal spas such as the AQUALUX therme in Fohnsdorf and the Grimming therme in Bad Mitterndorf. Motorsport fans and bikers will also get their money's worth, as the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg is just 35 kilometers away.
In the village of Hohentauern and the surrounding area, there are many excursion destinations, plenty of shopping opportunities, supermarkets and a good selection of restaurants
