45 km south of Kuusamo, 94 km north of Suomussalmi, lake Polojärvi 45 m (length of lake 6 km, width 2 km), shallow, gently deepening shore, gravel bottom, own rowing boat, dock. Log cabin, built in 2005. Living room /kitchen with sofa bed, bed room with double bed (width 140 cm), loft with two double beds (width 140 cm). Sauna with electric stove, bathroom / toilet, covered terrace. Lakeside sauna is a partially renovated old log sauna, in use from the beginning of June to the end of October. Water is carried from the lake. The sauna has a large covered porch. Keskiniemi is located on the peninsula of Polojärvi in an open and sunny location. Flat yard and shallow beach suitable for children. Cottage is suitable for both relaxed holiday and base for active holiday. A doghouse and dog's cage in yard. Fishing on Lake Polojärvi: a fisheries management fee is needed, fishing is allowed on lakes, excluding the salmon-based streams (more www.eraluvat.fi). The fisherman is obliged to review the fishing restrictions at kalastusrajoitus.fi. Cottage owner gives more detailed information eg about fishing permits. Boat ramp is located 200 m away. Kylmäluoma Hiking Area 7 km. Excellent fishing opportunities in clear water lakes and ponds. Area has hiking trails, lean-to shelters, campfire sites, in winter cross country ski trails (15 km), snowmobile trails etc. Kylmäluoma is known for its rugged ridges, primeval forest and lakes.
