From the village, you can walk or cycle straight into nature, past vast polders, colourful flower fields and picturesque villages. For fanatical walkers, there are routes such as the Groot-Frieslandpad or the walking network of the Kop van Noord-Holland, which takes you through the vast landscape and along small waters and dykes.
For families with children, there is also plenty to do. Nearby you will find Van Blanckendaell Park with animals and a playground, or Land van Fluwel where children can play among the flowers. On warm days, a visit to swimming pool De Veersloot in the village itself is a fine option, with slide and paddling pool. A little further away is recreation area Geestmerambacht, where you can swim, sail, picnic or play by the water.
