Beautiful spacious house with lots of privacy and a fully fenced garden. Almost everything is available from household materials. The cinema in the basement with Netflix is also a nice extra. Enjoy to the fullest.
In itself a very nice house. It does need a facelift, just like a proper polish. The blocks of the previous tenants were still under the seat as well as the dog's ball. We first had to clean the kitchen ourselves before we could / wanted to use it. Not all sockets work. Due to hard rain showers, there was a leak in the roof that seeped through the ceiling in the hall. The bathroom / toilet was also a damp spot with mold. Garden and pool were in order.
The reception is very neat, an English-speaking lady will show you around the whole. The house is really fantastic, a large, completely enclosed garden and of course the fantastic swimming pool. Lots of privacy, you literally look out over the fields from the back of the house / pool. In about five minutes there are two bakers, within ten minutes you can be at about six different supermarkets.
with 2 adults and 5 children, this house was completely top, plenty of rooms and space. In the basement a room with fitness equipment and a sauna AND a home cinema. The French Netflix is doable, you can set everything with English subtitles. There is a large washing machine and dryer which makes a week away with children ideal. In addition, a large garden with a heated swimming pool, in the evenings you can also enjoy the pool with lights on. Everything is available in the house. There were even towels for us to use. There are plenty of supermarkets in the area, only the center of Verdun is a bit boring. Many shops closed probably because of Corona. We visited the citadel and the cathedral, but especially enjoyed the peace, space and pool. We had no problems at all from the train that passed by every now and then (more than that). The owners are very friendly and the woman speaks sufficient English, we got a tour and everything was well explained. In a previous review, someone said that they would appreciate some bottles of chilled water and a bottle of wine on arrival. The owners took this well, because there were some bottles of water in the fridge and a bottle of champagne! This is the ideal place for a family with children who want some peace and quiet!
Fantastic house, very spacious, beautiful rooms, great beds. French doors everywhere, phenomenal view !! Lots of privacy. Very nice owners, Mrs. Colette comes to clean the pool completely every 2 to 3 days. That is also the time to discuss or ask questions, but this can also be done by email, she responds very quickly. She speaks enough English to communicate. Large garage with ping pong table and bicycles that may be used. The pool is beautiful; clear water and heated. We enjoyed our two weeks. Highly recommended for families, but also for families with supporters. Oh yeah; a private cinema in the basement! Tip for the owners; check the dishes / glasses; there is plenty but a bit of a mixed bag. Also maybe a bottle of wine on the table on arrival and for example a few bottles of cold water in the fridge would be great, we think the wifi should be a bit faster.
