Station Liglet
Alluring mansion in Liglet with heated pool
Description
THE UNIQUE STORY, AS TOLD BY THE HOME OWNER
Welcome to Liglet train station!
This old station has a unique and rustic charm. Rarely will you find more charming lodging than Station Liglet. Because its original function is still visible, this is your chance to stay in a historic train station, dating all the way back to 1888.
The way the station building was renovated while retaining all the original elements is very unique. How about a drink on the terrace that used to be the platform? You'll also immediately recognize the old ticket booths in the house.
Station Liglet is also a perfect outing with children. There are lots of toys in the house, and kids can have fun with the zipline and tree house.
DETAILS
- This former 1888 station has been lovingly restored to residential use in recent years. In addition, 2 years ago a large heated swimming pool of 16x4m was built to make your stay even more enjoyable.
- The house has all kinds of classic features, combined with the modern conveniences of today, such as WiFi and Amazon Echo.
- The old rails have been removed, but very occasionally a walker or cyclist will pass by on the old track, which is still owned by the SNCF. A small piece of the rails can still be seen here.
- In the spacious surroundings a visit to Oradour sur Glane (1 hour) or Futuroscope (75 minutes) is highly recommended.
- Around the house there are 2 large terraces, one of which is on the former platform. There is also more history to be found at this vacation home: the original ticket counters are still inside and the swimming pool (50 m) was built on a former loading platform.
- A tree house has been built for the children, from which they can abseil down a zip line. Finally, there are also a ping pong table, badminton and a large selection of board games.
-The private swimming pool is only available starting mid of june until end of september.

Beautiful location, beautiful house and lovely pool. All kitchen utensils for a delicious dinner. Lots of children's toys for the pool and at home. Some material is somewhat outdated, such as the stove and oven and the walls are very thin, but the place and the house are wonderfully casual.
The environment is great. The house is spacious and charming. It has the necessary amenities. Plus: many (outdoor) toys and books available. The welcome was warm and sympathetic. Unfortunately it has not been cleaned very thoroughly (lots of dust and cobwebs, dust on some cupboards, large carpet in living room not vacuumed (> dog hair and crumbs)). The larger surfaces have been cleaned, bathroom and toilets are also neat. The heated pool also appears to have problems with warming up, so it is now swimming in water of 19 - 20 degrees. Fairly cold for young children and at outside temperatures of approx. 22 degrees. This was just the deciding factor for us to book this house in mid-September. In the middle of summer this would have been less disturbing.
Lovely house, very spacious garden and large swimming pool! You certainly don't have to get bored here
Arrival with obstacle-second beautiful, beautiful house
The property and its immediate surroundings immediately appealed. The wide open environment on one side of the house and still a lot of privacy through the trees and shrubs along the "platform" side. The way in which the station building was renovated while retaining all the original elements is clever. Swimming pool, trees, hammocks ... there was just everything. It remains, of course, a building of a good century old :) The drain of the shower was also on leave and needed some time to drain the water. But that was also the only downside for us. Anja and Kurt
