Description
Situated in the heart of a village 25 km from Carcassonne, this characteristic holiday home with a large private swimming pool measuring 14m by 4m is the perfect destination for friends and family. Relax in a tranquil setting surrounded by serenity and calm.
Around the village of Saint Denis, nestling in Cathar country on the southern slopes of the Montagne Noire, there's plenty to discover: hiking and cycling with its many lakes and rivers, the Cabardès vineyards, Cathar castles, traditional markets (Revel, Carcassonne), caves (Limousis, Cabrespine). Go canyoning in the Montagne Noire, take a guided tour of the city and castle of Carcassonne, visit an essential oil distillery in Castelnaudary (22 km), take a break at the Étangs de Saïx leisure centre (25 km), go rafting on the River Aude at Alet-les-Bains (40 km). Nearby, you'll find a number of restaurants serving local cuisine, including, of course, ‘Le Cassoulet’. The St Ferreol lake 25 km near Revel has a garden with waterfall and water jet at the bottom of the dike and lots of restaurants and bars around and 5 km from Revel is the market. This lake is very popular here. Then there are 2 very typical villages in Saissac 6km away with the ruins of a medieval castle and Montolieu, also 6km away with its narrow streets and its numerous bookstores which make it called the book village.
After a refreshing dip in the pool, you can relax in the sun on the sun loungers. A normal barbecue area (fire to be made with charcoal) is available for grilling. A soak in the bath will be much needed after a day of excursions. The bedrooms are comfortable and one has a TV for watching your favourite TV programmes. Your cars are safe in the garage.

Nice clean and well-kept house with every comfort. You enter through the door and you immediately have to go up a dozen stairs. On the first floor is the spacious living room, bedroom, toilet, spacious dressing and you go through to the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped and opens onto a spacious terrace. The stairs to the second floor are not secured, so be careful with small children or people who don't feel so confident! The pool is spacious and very well maintained. If you go with small children, be careful, there are stairs to the garden and a steep slope to the pool. The owner is very friendly and helpful. With minor issues, he immediately did the necessary without disturbing your privacy. The beds were neatly made and the house was very clean. I have rarely experienced such a nice reception. Recommended!
Charming house in the middle of a small town.Lovely pool. enclosed by the greenery. Perfect to unwind. The house is fully and well equipped. Kitchen with all appliances. (oven, microwave, induction stove, dishwasher, ...) Well located to visit the neighboring sights.Super holiday.
Even before leaving on vacation, there was a smooth contact with the owner. On arrival we received a clear tour of a house that is equipped with all necessities with the swimming pool as a very great added value. There was also a bottle of wine and cold water for the children, which was certainly appreciated after a long drive. The owner was always easily accessible and helped us several times with advice and tips. He also did pool and garden maintenance several times during our stay, without us ever feeling it impacted our privacy. The house itself is very well and quietly located half an hour's drive from Carcassonne, which is certainly useful if you have to go shopping or want to do a day trip. All rooms are sufficiently spacious. The kitchen is perfectly equipped.
Very nice holiday! We were warmly welcomed by the owner. We got a lot of tips from him for the immediate and further surroundings. The house is very spacious, clean and equipped with all comforts! Large veranda and lovely spacious swimming pool.
Over het algemeen een aangename ervaring. Het zwembad was verfrissend en we hebben genoten van het ontspannen op de ligstoelen. Het enige nadeel was het beperkte aantal eetgelegenheden in de directe omgeving, maar we hebben een aantal geweldige restaurants gevonden op korte rijafstand.
