The Baltic Sea resort of Rerik, with approximately 2,000 inhabitants, lies between the two Hanseatic cities of Wismar and Rostock. This former fishing village is situated in a very scenic location on a narrow isthmus separating the Baltic Sea from the Salzhaff lagoon.
A ruggedly romantic cliff coast, natural beaches, the bathing beach, and the 170-meter-long pier on the Baltic Sea side of Rerik invite visitors to linger, as does the Salzhaff side with its small marina and sailing area.
