Marina Hülsen - The Willow River House
The Willow Riverside House is situated directly on the banks of the Schlei fjord in a beautiful garden surrounded by hedges. The view across the water is fantastic, stretching southwest to the island of Kieholm and north to the bend in the Schlei at the bathing area. High-quality wicker chairs and upholstered loungers are available for sunbathing in the sheltered spots around the house. The seating area for relaxing and grilling is located precisely where you can enjoy a 180° view of the water and the rolling shoreline.
Inside the house, floor-to-ceiling windows allow you to enjoy the beautiful views from the living room and bedrooms as well. You can even enjoy a view of the Schlei while relaxing in the sauna. The house is furnished in a restrained and clean style, using white and light gray with accents in red berry tones.
Two bedrooms have double beds, and one has two single beds (90x200cm). In the living room, besides the cozy sofa corner upholstered in soft, wine-red leather, there's a large dining table with comfortable upholstered chairs, perfect for lingering over meals, conversations, and simply losing track of time.
Light gray Italian floor tiles provide a warm and inviting atmosphere on cooler days. This house is also a haven of comfort in winter, when the wood-burning stove crackles and the Schlei panorama glistens white. There's a spacious bathroom with a double vanity made of natural stone, a whirlpool tub, a sauna, and a shower with porthole windows reminiscent of the open sea.
For those who want to complement the beautiful views with other activities, there are two flat-screen TVs, a DVD player, high-speed internet, and an information folder with current tips for excursions and activities. Bicycles, paddles, or golf bags can be stored in the attached wooden shed.
