arrival: the owner was not present. after a chance meeting with a neighbor, her brother turned up. everything is chaotic, because we don't speak Italian and he only speaks Italian. very friendly.accomodation: nice big apartment BUT DIRTY AND DIRTY! dog feet everywhere, shower curtain smells and is full of mold, towels smell musty, everything you touch sticks, the bed does have clean sheets but we are full of bites of bugs (bed bugs?). there is no microwave, there is no possibility to make coffee, the oven is only for storing pans, the gas fire is dirty and sticky ... cobwebs everywhere ... environment: beautiful terrace (chairs are dirty, but good ...) really blissful peace (if you don't count the dogs of the neighbors below)
Setting was beautiful. View from balcony is breathtaking. Reception was friendly despite the fact that owners spoke no language other than Italian; however, we do not speak Italian either, so the poor communication is not solely due to the owner. The disadvantage of the area is that the distance to sights is relatively large. In addition, the house is on a steep, narrow road where it regularly happened that we had an oncoming car. This just went well. Parking is therefore also a challenge. Major drawback was that the cottage was very noisy; the owner literally lived 1 door away without any insulation. She had 1 (or more) dog (s) who barked continuously. She then shouted at the dog; this disrupted the peace considerably. With regard to hygiene; we had the feeling that the owner lives with her dogs in the house when there are no guests. This is partly due to many (dog) hair that we found in sheets and on towels. Not pleasant. Apartment is larger than expected and pictures show. Despite the negative parts, we had a great week here!
Welcoming reception. Nice location and environment
A very friendly reception. People do their best to make themselves understood. Too bad you can not ask anything during the stay. Everything is present in the cottage. Very atmospheric. The TV room was also sleeping space for my daughter. We have not watched a lot of TV, but it is not convenient. My other daughter slept on the couch in the living room. Lovely to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. Also nice that you can use the washing machine free of charge. Very nice village and beautiful surroundings.
The house is located about 2 kilometers outside Sesta Godano, on top of a mountain. It is equally climb with the car but it is easily accessible. The house does not look very special from the front, but behind it is amazing. On the balcony you can relax and enjoy the beautiful view. The interior is very nicely decorated. The bedding is a bit musty and damp so we have used our own bedding. On arrival and departure, we are helped by the downstairs neighbors, a family that lives there. There's absolutely no bother. We have gone from the house towards the Cinque Terre, to the beach of San Terenzo. We also have a day gerelaxed on the balcony and walked back and forth to the village. The only way back is a steep climb which we would not do this again. We would definitely return here again to enjoy the tranquility. If you lie you hear to nature and nothing else in bed, really fantastic.
