Huis Borre Bos is situated in the middle of the woody surroundings of Drenthe, near the Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold, with plenty of opportunities for walking, cycling and nature experiences. The park itself offers, among other things, an indoor swimming pool, playgrounds, catering facilities, bicycle rental and entertainment for children. is located on the green Landgoed 't Wildryck, in the middle of Drenthe's nature. From the house, you can walk or cycle straight into the woods. The area is known for its tranquillity, space and varied landscapes with woods, heaths and sand drifts.

A short distance away is the Drents-Friese Wold National Park, one of the largest nature reserves in the Netherlands. Here you can hike, cycle endlessly and enjoy the silence and nature. Fans of mountain biking, horse riding and photography will also find plenty to enjoy here.
For fun excursions, there are cosy villages and towns nearby, such as Diever, Appelscha, Dwingeloo and Assen, with terraces, shops and museums. There are plenty of opportunities for families, such as Speelboerderij De Drentse Koe, the Prison Museum in Veenhuizen and Wildlands Adventure Zoo in Emmen.
