Very cozy and well-equipped apartment, only the floor creaked a lot, especially in the living room. The chalet is located on a difficult unpaved path and a little too far from civilization with shops, etc. In our opinion, the striking pallet stove in the living room is sufficient to heat the entire chalet after fifteen minutes. We do not think that we will return there because of the somewhat depressing environment (Fumay and Oignies), but that is certainly not due to the chalet.
Super spot in the middle of the forest and friendly owners. The cottage is cozy, but comfortable and fully equipped (except a dishwasher). We stayed there during a warm period and then the terrace between the trees is a wonderful retreat. Walking is fine from the cottage and there is a lot of wildlife to spot, such as deer, squirrels and bats ("in the evening). We were unlucky that there was a problem with the shower, but that was solved by the owners within a few days by installing a new shower cubicle.
A lovely house on the border of Belgium and France, with all the trimmings, unfortunately except for the promised dishwasher. In the forest, no sounds from neighbors, birds and deer you see if you pay attention and in the late evening we regularly heard an owl. There were four of us (couple and 19 and 17 year old) and had enough space. However, there is little space to walk around the double bed, which makes going to the toilet at night difficult. Shower works great! Only quickly very hot, the shower with small children would be a bit scary. The WiFi was not always available, especially in the afternoon and evening tie was sometimes gone for hours. The setting is beautiful, forest mountains and streams! And lots of rocks, plenty to see and do in the immediate area. Cottage itself was clean and tidy. We have been there for two weeks and the time has flown by. For our dog, the large grid at the front door was less like all the stones around the house. But we put some over the grid so that the dog could just walk in. In short, we enjoyed the area and the cottage, had absolutely no regrets.
What a beautiful environment. In the middle of the woods. What a rest. No sound for miles around. The bungalow was just more beautiful in the pictures of Belvilla than in reality. You really have a bungalow feeling with the house. Everything is made of wood and you hear every step you take. The floor creaks everywhere. The rooms are also quite narrow. The double bed fits nicely in it, but then there is no more room for a cupboard (yet in 1 room). Each room has a sink in the already limited space. The kitchen is also on the small side. The electric fire works substandard and there is no dishwasher while it is on the website.James if you count on it.The ceiling is low.All this gives you a stuffy feeling bungalow style. Also positive things. There is good working WiFi.Important! The pelet stove makes it very cozy and the tv.is super.Met all Dutch-language channels such as in Vlaanderen.Ook the shower in the very small bathroom works fine.We came to the conclusion that this house would work great for a weekend or midweek.Maar for a real holiday of 1 or z eker 2 weeks, the bungalow for 6 people seems just too small and cramped. The electric fire also needs to be replaced. The wooded area, the pellet stove, the WiFi and the television make up for it. Tip : if you go shopping and you are used to the luxury of our department stores, stay in Belgium and drive a few kilometers to Couvin.
Nice area, shops nearby and a good night's sleep in nature, definitely recommended.
Nice quiet cottage, very well equipped, good wifi and large TV. Very comfortable beds.
