From the ruins of the old papal castle you have a great view over the Rhone valley and the surrounding vineyards. Within half an hour, you can reach some of Provence's most beautiful sites. In Avignon, once the seat of popes and poets, stroll over the famous Pont Saint-Bénézet and through the shady alleys of the old town. In Orange, the imposing Roman theatre brings history to life, while Vaison-la-Romaine welcomes you with its charming medieval quarter and colourful markets. And then there is the Pont du Gard, majestically above the river Gardon, a marvel of craftsmanship that has stood the test of time for two thousand years.
