Description
The Edam Fishing Cottage is a beautifully renovated holiday home within walking distance of the idyllic town centre. You will find a large living area with an open kitchen, a living room with a dining table and comfortable bedrooms. The house is especially suitable for families.
By bus or car, you can reach the centre of Amsterdam within half an hour, but there is also plenty to do in the Edam area. Hire a bike or a whisper boat around the corner and discover the beautiful surroundings. In Edam, you will find specialised shops and cosy terraces. Volendam, Marken, Hoorn and Alkmaar are also worth a visit. In the holiday home, you will find plenty of inspiration for trips and cycling routes. The freshwater IJsselmeer is within walking distance. Swim and play in the playground. There is also a children's pool for small children.
The house is equipped with books, a chest full of toys, various musical instruments (recorder, ukulele, flute and mini accordion), board games and puzzles. The courtyard is sunny, spacious and equipped with comfortable chairs. Here you can end the day with a good glass of wine. Free parking is available in front of the door, and the spacious shower on the ground floor is easily accessible for the elderly. (E)-bikes can be stored and charged on the enclosed patio. Cars can be parked nearby -and usually in front of the door- free of charge. A crib, high chair, and stroller is available upon request and free of charge.
Upon arrival, the beds are made. You are kindly requested to respect the quiet atmosphere outside after 23:00.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner who showed us around and prepared all kinds of goodies. The beds were lovely, the interior attractive, clean and fully equipped. The house is located in a narrow street in the middle of old Edam. You walk on the canal in a minute. Navigation is useful, because the street map is complicated. We have visited Edam, Volendam, Monnickendam, Zaanse Schans and Enkhuizen. All quickly and easily accessible by car. The owner has a lot of information ready in the cottage. Highly recommended.

Very friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere, great picturesque village, beautiful old buildings, quiet, a real gem. I and my companions have even considered not to post this review to remain an undiscovered little secret ....
We were warmly welcomed by the owner, with cold home-made lemonade and white wine in the fridge on a hot day! The cottage has been lovingly restored, very attractive and fully equipped. Also sit outside. Edam a nice town, with some restaurants, whispering boat rental and of course the cheese market. Environment very worthwhile too. Highly recommended!
We were warmly received on arrival and there was a welcome gift in the fridge. The accommodation was fully catered for. Very clean and really everything you could imagine was present in the cottage. The accommodation was literally within walking distance of the village.
