The Vivenda Fortim is located on the wild and romantic north-east coast of Madeira. The climate here is very mild. Far away from the busy south coast, the house is still easy to reach. This part of the island is considered the most beautiful hiking region in Madeira. Many of the most famous hiking trails are within easy reach of the house. There are also good bathing opportunities along the coast. In the immediate neighbourhood of the Vivenda Fortim is an old fortress, hence the name of the house. The "Vivenda Fortim" was newly built by a local family of hoteliers with the intention of providing to offer its guests an elegant ambience in a quiet location. All rooms are very spacious. Many large windows provide a pleasantly bright ambience. From everywhere you have an unobstructed view of the sea and the coast with the impressive 600 metre high Eagle Rock, a Madeira landmark. The living space is spread over two floors, each with balconies or terraces over the full length of the house. Both bedrooms are en suite. On the upper floor you have a cosy living room and a fully equipped kitchen. The lovingly furnished house is warmly looked after by the owner family, who live in Funchal. It is not run primarily for commercial reasons, but for the pleasure of hosting guests, to make your stay a pleasant one and to reveal the beauty of Madeira. The surroundings are typical of rural Madeira. Individual houses are scattered on the hills, imposing cliffs and picturesque bays alternate. It is the region of Madeira with the most lush vegetation.
