Surrounded by the up to 600 m high mountains of the southern Harz, in the historic town centre of Ilfeld, you will find our family-run guest house, which was built in half-timbered style around 1800 as the first school in Ilfeld. Our holiday flats are named after the surrounding mountains or rock formations and you stay in the holiday flat "Gänseschnabel" for up to 2 people (approx. 25m²) on the ground floor. The flat can be reached via 4 steps into the house and is therefore also suitable for older guests. It consists of a living room with flat screen TV, upholstered suite, mini kitchen, a bedroom with double bed and wardrobe, small bathroom with shower, toilet and a window to ventilate with a view of our courtyard and the garden and a small separate toilet also with a window to ventilate with a view of the courtyard and the garden. Internet via our in-house hot-spot is available free of charge and a car park on our enclosed property is available free of charge by arrangement. The beautiful outdoor area with many flowers, lawn and outdoor seating invites you to relax, unwind or barbecue. Enjoy the view of the mountains and pretty half-timbered houses and the most beautiful hiking trails start right on our doorstep. Shopping facilities such as a private butcher's shop with Thuringian specialities and a range of food and drinks for your daily needs, bread and rolls from the local bakery and a snack bar for breakfast and lunch (barbecues are always served on Fridays) are just a 2-minute walk away. There is also a supermarket, drinks market, bakery, gift shop, pharmacy, doctor's surgery and hairdresser's. The most beautiful hiking trails start on our doorstep! Ilfeld's convenient location in the heart of Germany allows you to explore the Harz and the neighbouring regions in all directions. In Nordhausen you can visit the Museum Tabackspeicher, the traditional distillery (Nordhäuser Doppelkorn), the bathhouse, the theatre, the film palace or the former concentration camp Mittelbau Dora.
