Het Bloesemklooster
Renovated monastery in blossom region
Description
Come stay overnight and enjoy this beautifully renovated monastery in the blossom region of Limburg. The former monastery of the Carmelites has been transformed into a vacation accommodation for groups and families (up to 28 people). There are as many as 10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms and the house is pet-friendly.
The monastery exudes rural peace and quiet, which, by the way, were part of the monks' rule of life. From various rooms you look out over the garden, blossoms, apple plantations and the church tower in the background.
As many elements of the monastery as possible have been preserved and the amount of space makes the accommodation suitable for many purposes, for example, the large imposing dining room is also suitable for meetings, making the accommodation the ideal destination for a team building.
Zepperen is a borough of St. Truiden, the capital of Haspengouw and the fruitiest city in Flanders. Walk, bike or tour this grand city with several monuments and castles or visit a local brewery.
April and May are traditionally the months when the fruit region reawakens. It is the perfect time to go out and let yourself be seduced by a spectacle of enchanting blossoms. The blossom season is celebrated extensively through various activities: relax with a picnic, take a look behind the scenes of a family fruit farm, taste local Haspengouw products, enjoy a twilight walk or visit a blossom bar!

warm welcome, comfortable and comfortable holiday home, plenty of space for our large family group, wonderfully made beds! And as icing on the cake, a pool table that was played to your heart's content. In short, a must in the hospitable and beautiful Limburg fruit region!
Very friendly welcome, clean rooms, sufficient space, pleasant stay.
We had a very nice weekend, sympathetic reception, beautiful location, all the trimmings, in short, highly recommended
Kitchen and its contents were filthy. Bathrooms ditto. Dishwasher stopped working. Hob was still dirty. Dishes and bags were dirty in the cupboards. Electrical switches did not work. Lighting was broken in several places. Overall, the cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms left something to be desired. We're not coming back here.
Fantastic accommodation with a lot of space! Great dining room and large kitchen with everything you need, spacious rooms with private bathroom and toilet, spacious living room (with billiards and table football for the youngest) and fenced garden. Sufficient tables and chairs for both indoor and outdoor use. Since it is located against the main track, you will not experience any hindrance here. Walking quietly between the orchards and playing freely accessible playgrounds in the vicinity is possible. Great to book with friends and kids. Highly recommended with family and friends!
The hostess and host are super friendly, and helpful. They make you feel really welcome, and come home. The monastery itself is beautiful and atmospheric, but there are some defects, mainly due to overdue maintenance: there are glass windows with a large crack in it, there is even a window in a bedroom missing, and replaced by a wooden plank . The pots and pans in the kitchen are worn, and there is no large, decent BBQ for larger groups. The billiard table is unplayable because it is tilted. The room you walk through to enter the monastery is full of junk. A thorough, major painting and cleaning of the entire monastery would not hurt. Despite these points of improvement, we had a wonderful time with the family in the beautiful fruit region and we remember with pleasure the warm reception in the monastery.
