Het Schildershuijs is a real family house and is located on a beautiful street near the centre of Bergen, in a wooded area. It is a comfortable one level holiday home and fully equipped. There are 2 bedrooms that can accommodate 4 guests, making it ideal for families.
The Middengeestweg is a quiet wooded near the centre, near the Bergerbos, which extends along the entire west side of Bergen. The beach can be reached by bike in 10 minutes. Bicycles are available for rent at the accommodation.
The high windows still bring in the light that painter David Kouwenaar loved so much. Now that the smells of paint and turpentine have disappeared, we have given his studio in the garden on Middengeestweg in the artists' village of Bergen (NH) a new life. It has been completely modernized for you and furnished as an extremely comfortable holiday home. The underfloor heating throughout the house ensures a comfortable temperature.

A very nice, very well-kept house with a personal greeting and company
The accommodation itself is very nice. Unfortunately we had problems with the sewage during our stay. Then the entire garden and yard was torn up over 3-4 days in our presence. Accordingly, construction workers were also constantly in the garden. Afterwards the garden was more or less a field. The sewage problem was not completely resolved when we left (as of August 6, 2021). Our luck was that the employed property manager Marco is very committed and competent and tried to make our stay pleasant despite everything.
We had a great vacation in Bergen! The house is centrally located: - 3 minutes by bike to the town center, - 5 km to the beach in Bergen an Zee with very good beach restaurants and bars, the possibility of endless walks on the beach and other activities such as surfing etc - 5 km to Alkmaar, a city that is really worth seeing great architecture and the opportunity to go on a cruise, visit museums and exhibitions or the cheese market or simply stroll through the numerous shops - other sights and numerous opportunities for leisure activities and sports in the village or in the immediate vicinity The house offers full comfort for one Family of 4 - we felt very comfortable here. Marco's tips on leisure activities (he takes care of the house and speaks very good German) were great - thank you very much for that! We will definitely book the house again! Beate & Uwe
