These trekkers’ field pitches are tucked deep in the forest, on the edge of the wooded hillside about 200 metres above the lake and a few minutes’ walk from the famous Wörthersee in sunny southern Austria. It is camping at its best for those who like things a little more basic.
There is no electricity and no distraction here, just the nature and tranquillity of the field. That makes these pitches especially popular with nature lovers and anyone who really wants to go offline for a while. You can still use all the facilities of the park, and a washer and dryer are available for a small fee.
The surroundings of turquoise water, rolling hills and the Alpine-Adriatic region make this an ideal starting point for a holiday of relaxation, nature and adventure. Explore the charming towns of Velden and Klagenfurt, take a trip to Italy or Slovenia, or follow the many hiking and cycling routes around the lake.
In summer, the lake invites you to go swimming, stand-up paddleboarding, boating and relaxing, while winter brings nearby ski resorts, winter hiking trails and atmospheric Christmas markets. Whether you want a quiet break by the lake, an active hiking or cycling holiday in the mountains or a winter trip to the Austrian Alps, this is a wonderful base for the best of Carinthia.
