Herrera de Alcántara is situated in the heart of the nature reserve Tajo Internacional, in a protected bird area. The holiday home is surrounded by local vegetation, strawberry trees, and rosemary bushes. There are various activities like walking, cycling, horse riding, hunting, and fishing to enjoy in the area. The lake at 5 km is great for a day-trip. Restaurants lie at 9 km while supermarkets lie at 10 km.
All three bedrooms have double beds. The fireplace in the living room spreads the warmth. At the terrace with the barbecue, you can enjoy summer evenings. In the garden, you can lie down with a book and play ball games. 2 bathrooms are at your disposal.

We struggled to find the location (coming from a different vacation address; our car navigation did not know the location and we did not have 4G). Fortunately, once we were in the area, the Tres Dehesas was well signposted. We were received very friendly and the house was fantastic. The environment was what I had hoped for, very beautiful, along the way there were not only cattle, but also deer and every day we saw many vultures circling. We inquired about the possibilities to buy bread in the neighborhood (especially for breakfast), and that was explained. But in fact it was not necessary, because every day the owner or her daughter brought a huge amount of delicacies that we could easily have with breakfast (cakes, bread to toast, jam, butter, milk, fruit juice you name it). We had a shower that broke at an unfortunate time; that was immediately resolved (while we could have used the third bathroom). The house was completely according to the pictures, perhaps nicer; very spacious with large living room, kitchen with table and space to barbecue inside, 2 large fridge-freezer, three 2-person bedrooms + adjoining bathroom, and a separate WC. Lovely swimming pool with grass around it and shade for lovers. The kitchen did not have a lot of pans, but there was, for example, coffee (and a percolator, my favorite), tea, sugar and the like to use. There was a toaster and a washing machine. The laundry rack was a bit small, but luckily the laundry dried very quickly. The people were very friendly and helpful. Really recommended! You must be able to withstand that there is no WiFi and that you are fairly far from civilization. In any case, we thought it was wonderful and would have liked to stay longer.

We hebben echt genoten van ons verblijf bij La Romera! De omringende natuur is prachtig, en we hebben gebruik gemaakt van de wandelpaden, Het huis had alles wat we nodig hadden, Ideaal voor gezinnen die op zoek zijn naar een vredige vakantie
