Description
This is a historic 4-bedroom holiday home in Saint-Jean-de-Sauves. Built in the 18th century, it's located in the peaceful countryside and offers complete privacy. It is great for big families.
The surroundings are ideal for walking and cycling. Major attractions nearby include the castles and wineries of the Loire, the Futuroscope amusement park, and the Puy du Fou theme park. It is managed locally and it supplies quite a few restaurants throughout the region with its products. There is a recreational lake 10km away. The medieval town centre of Chinon is worth a visit. There's a supermarket 3 km away and a restaurant 10 km from here.
The home has wooden beams, natural stone walls and an ancient fireplace along with all the modern amenities. There is a large roofed terrace and a garden with furniture. There is also a barbecue. The home is child-friendly and has a children’s bed and high chair. You're allowed to bring 1 pet for €15 per stay.
The house is only heated by a wood-burning stove. During the winter months (October to April inclusive) you pay extra for this; this is settled in the service costs that you pay in advance. The accommodation is not heated in any other way. The wood stove provides sufficient heating for the entire accommodation.

Lovely house and nice host / hostess. Garden is closed, so ideal with small children. House is very nicely decorated and we had a wonderful time.
Nice big house. The house has everything you need, from kitchen utensils to books. The terrace is very pleasant, nice quiet rural setting.
After a long drive we were warmly welcomed by Wendy and Maarten, it is recommended to make use of the offer to let them take care of dinner on the arrival day! We were in the large house with 8 people, very spacious and the large veranda is really ideal! The veranda is a real guarantee for long dining and playing many games! In short, if you are looking for a spacious location, this is definitely recommended! Wendy and Maarten know the area well and can provide you with good and fun tips to do in the area! We have enjoyed 2 weeks here.
A week with four people in this spacious house. Lovely large covered terrace where you can relax, eat and barbecue. The reception was very friendly. The owner gave many tips about the area and was very helpful. Recommended are Saumur, Chinon and Poitiers. Swimming was possible at Lake St. Cyr. On arrival and before departure, we had a nice meal on our own terrace provided by the landlords. In short, a relaxing week.
Great, was good to find and the reception was well arranged. We were able to go in ourselves, so we had all the peace to explore and decorate the place. Village is quiet and in the area we have a nice walk with our dog. Activities include a small lake with a beach, walking along a small river and larger towns in the area. All of them only to do by car. We (family with 3 large children) were in the main part of the house and that was wonderful. Many read and diapered thanks to the filled bookcases in the house. Top vacation.
Upon arrival we are warmly welcomed with a delicious welcome gift. Then we went to enjoy the quiet environment and accommodation. Good house with lots of space and various rooms. We actually only used the roof. Recommended to go back again.
