Maspalomas is the oldest seaside resort on the south coast of Gran Canaria and is known for its huge dunes, which are six kilometers long and one to two kilometers wide. The 68 meter tall El Faro lighthouse, built in 1889, towers proudly in the air. At the lighthouse is an oasis called "La Charca" where many waterfowl breed. Terrible noise from construction activities. We came to relax but we ended up on a construction place where big tricks pass by and rocks are being smashed throughout the day!
