Description
Secluded Woodland Hut for 2
Some hideaways want to impress you. This one wants you to disappear — into birdsong, into the sound of a nearby brook, through a rambling rose archway leading to your own hut, tucked further into the trees than anywhere else nearby.
Inside, the sleeping area feels sumptuous rather than simply snug, with the kitchen and en-suite shower room at either end, divided by a cozy seating nook and a wood-burning stove that turns even the coldest evening into something worth savouring. The kitchen holds a mini oven with dual hotplates for toasting, baking, roasting or grilling, plus a microwave and a fridge with a freezer compartment, everything needed, nothing extra. Free Wi-Fi and central heating keep things comfortable throughout, and being en-suite means no walks across damp grass at midnight.
Step outside, and the decking gives way to something rarer still, a second, floating deck raised above the woodland canopy, turned entirely toward the treetops and the sky beyond them. Down below, there's outdoor seating too, and a built-in brick barbecue for evenings that don't want to end just because dinner's done. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome along for the whole stay.
This is Shropshire at its quietest, deep woodland, a running brook, and distance enough that the outside world barely reaches. There is little to do here except notice things: the light shifting through leaves, the stove settling into embers, a silence broken only by birdsong. Some places are for seeing. This one is for feeling.
