In a secluded hamlet of 3 houses, set on a hill 600m above sea level, surrounded by woods and olive groves, Casa Stoppa is a large, tastefully restored stone house. Set in the centre of a 3-hectare estate, it has its own private swimming pool (10x4.5m). The house is large: it has 6 bedrooms and two shower rooms, can comfortably accommodate 12 people and provides privacy for everyone. To the south and west, it is bordered by two terraces with panoramic views. It has a well-equipped kitchen, a large dining room and a living room with an open fire. In summer, because of the altitude, it is rarely stifling. The months of May-June and September-October, for those who can spare the time, are also very pleasant. Autumn, in particular, is mushroom season. Porcini mushrooms are abundant. Truffles are also plentiful, but it takes a bit of experience to find them... ;-) The house is ideal for children: the terraces and garden provide an endless playground for them to experiment. The swimming pool is far enough away not to be a source of worry for the youngest, or a source of noise pollution. From the house, there are many walks in the surrounding countryside and woods. The well-preserved village of Preggio is just 3 km along a dolomite path. Umbertide, 18km away, is the nearest town with its market and shopping facilities. The location is perfect for exploring Tuscany and Umbria. Within a 40 km radius, you'll reach the towns of Perugia, Cortona, Montone, Arezzo, Assisi and Lake Trasimeno, which offer plenty of opportunities for sightseeing. A little further afield: Siena, Gubbio, Piensa, Bagno Vignoni, Montepulciano (70km) or Florence (120km). Casa Stoppa is ideal for a cultural holiday while enjoying the dolce vita, peace and quiet, birdsong and cicadas. For your convenience, we would like to inform you that there is no mobile coverage in this area. However, we have set up a Wi-Fi connection so that you can stay connected during your stay. A car is essential for getting around, so we strongly recommend that you opt for a tall car. This will make it easier for you to get around on the dolomite paths.
