Nice accommodation in a beautiful setting!
Beautiful house, beautiful surroundings. Lovely host, who leaves you in peace, keeps the house and pool spotless. Kitchen very complete, each part of the house with separate bathrooms. What can I say, it is a very special place and we loved every minute of our stay. Recommended with stars :-)
What is not clearly stated in the holiday home's offer is that it concerns three separate homes, each with its own outside door. There is no inner passage between the houses. Wasn't a problem for us, but can be annoying for a large family. The house is neat and in itself fine to spend your holiday. The owner keeps animals behind the property (chickens, goats, etc). That attracts quite a few insects. There were a lot of very aggressive horseflies (often called gadflies) at the pool and around the house. They bite viciously, even through thin clothing. The worst part is that they swarm around your head, so that swimming or lying by the water is out of the question. According to the owner, these horseflies are available from the end of July to September. In addition, many mosquitoes that are very quiet and sting very quickly. There are no facilities in the houses (except for hearing in front of the windows) to combat mosquitoes. So mosquito repellent spray is necessary. In the Carrefour in Siena they sell a spray that protects against both mosquitoes and horseflies. Recommended. Furthermore, the wifi was not very good. Fell regularly and in the rear house it was hardly usable. The WiFi extender is on the other 4-person house. I advised the owner to place an extra extender in the 10-person holiday home. Not sure if he will follow that advice. We did enjoy ourselves, we didn't have great weather so we went out a lot. Siena is a really nice and beautiful city to visit. And a day trip to Florence is also easy to do (less than an hour and a half drive). View from the pool is really beautiful and it is also very quiet. But because of the insects we won't be going back to this location anytime soon.
