The historic centre with its beautiful half-timbered houses therefore attracts many tourists. From the centre, alleys, the narrowest of them over steps, lead up to the vineyards. Above Bernkastel rises the ruins of an old castle, Burg Landshut, a special place to visit and you enjoy stunning views. Famous Cochem and Trier can be reached in about an hour's drive. The drive there is already beautiful, winding along the Moselle villages and vineyards. A beautiful cycling and hiking trail runs along the Moselle. Highly recommended is a boat trip to explore this region, from Bernkastel-Keus you can book short and longer round trips.
