This is an excellent starting point for excursions to the many attractions of the west coast of Jutland, e.g. Esbjerg, which is well worth a visit with its harbour and many attractions such as The Fisheries and Maritime Museum. The city was founded on the existing port in 1899 and has the longest pedestrian zone in Jutland with good shopping opportunities. In the end of August, the Ho Sheep Market is also worth a visit.
