Description
"Old Watermill"
As early as the 14th century, a mill stood on this site, where the beams for the central building of the castle were likely sawn. The sawmill, in its current form, dates back to 1928, built by the renowned architect Jürgen Bachmann. Of the original mill, which was fed by the millpond, only the frame remains. However, the mill has lost little of its romantic charm in other aspects.
The house is captivating with its whimsical layout across three levels. The large living and dining room, with its historic beams, is flooded with light through its architecturally unique window, offering a view of the treetops.
The mill's large, enchanting garden, separated by a hedge, stretches along the idyllic, rural cul-de-sac by the castle moat, where only four houses are located. The village of Gelting, with its playground and shops, is within walking distance, while the nature reserve and nearby beaches are easily accessible by bicycle or car.
