If you don't drive a boat yourself, you can use a taxi boat or take a trip with Øysangferja, Norway's oldest wooden boat ferry, which runs between Øysang and Risør. Experience Risør's characteristic white wooden houses, saltwater aquarium, and restaurants, and take part in one of the many events and festivals, such as the wooden boat festival in August. Within walking distance there are fine, small sandy beaches both on the lake and the sea.
