After your return, a visit to the Kristalltherme Heißer Brocken is a great way to spend some relaxing and restorative hours.
The climatic health resort of Altenau is not only one of the entry points for hikes on the Harz Witches' Trail, but is also home to the largest herb park in Europe with a beautiful spice gallery. A visit to Altenau's private brewery with a guided tour and tasting is also not to be missed. It is the only remaining brewery in the Upper Harz. Altenau is in the middle of the Upper Harz, about ten kilometres from Clausthal-Zellerfeld and 15 kilometres from Goslar. To the east, the summit of the Brocken is 12 kilometres away.

The hosts were super nice and attentive, We were pleasantly surprised by how well-equipped the apartment was, The garden area was a nice touch for the kids to play in after our hikes
