The surrounding area is exceptionally vast and is just part of the grand Causses de Gramat: a 350-metre-high limestone plateau with rock walls so high that even mountain goats are frightened by them. Explore Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and Rocamadour to learn about the region's history. Bonaguil Castle, a 13th-century gem, stands majestically there. In the summer, the area comes alive with markets, food festivals (complete with evening snacks and live music, because eating without a tune is boring), and flea markets.
