Description
This large, beautiful holiday home in Courniou is ideal for families and can sleep up to 11 people in complete privacy.
Built into the hillside, it offers splendid views from its large stone terrace and swimming pool. On request and for a fee, the pool can be heated for maximum enjoyment. There is a covered outdoor dining area which is particularly pleasant in the hot summer months. The garden is floodlit and the 7-hectare private estate allows nature lovers to explore the surrounding area.
Inside, you'll find a sitting room with fireplace where you can gather and watch TV or listen to music. There is a dining room with a large farmhouse table and a second fireplace. Upstairs, there are three beautiful, rustic and comfortable bedrooms, and two more on the ground floor. There is a shower room on each floor and a third bathroom in the pool house. The kitchen is fully equipped with all you need.
Challenge yourself at the table tennis table or borrow a bike (3 provided). There is a footpath at the entrance to the property, which you can walk or cycle to Mazamet (30 km away).
From Courniou, there are many worthwhile activities and day trips. The nearest supermarkets and restaurants are in Labastide Rouaroux (5 minutes' drive). Nearby are Saint-Pons-de-Thomières and its farmers' markets (10 minutes' drive), the medieval town of Mazamet with its large suspension bridge, and the picturesque town of Olargues (30 minutes' drive).
the Héric gorges, 30 minutes away, where you can swim and go cliff-jumping.
There is also a tennis club in Mazamet with several indoor and outdoor tennis courts, as well as all amenities.
The beaches of the Mediterranean are just an hour away, and the extraordinary walled city of Carcassonne 1h30. For wine lovers, Saint Chinian and Minerve produce classified growths within 40 minutes of the house.
You will enjoy the entire property and swimming pool. The caretaker, Fred, lives 15 minutes away and is available if you need him. To avoid unnecessary delays, we advise you to inform the property manager a few hours before your planned arrival time.

An amazing house in wonderful countryside. The property is a long way up a rough road but just as we were wondering if we had taken the wrong turning the house appeared. Breathtaking! The facilities are excellent but we found the kitchen, although beautiful, a bit cramped for 5 keen cooks. The only other minor negatives were some occasionally noisy squirrels (!) and a couple of very creaky beds - but easily resolved. The house is beautifully furnished, the pool a delight. Despite being tucked away in blissfully peaceful woodland there are shops and local markets within easy driving distance. The key collection was easy and Dhr. Claes was charming and very helpful. I can't recommend this property highly enough. I would love to stay there again.
Authentic country house with peace and privacy.Beautiful house in a very quiet location with absolute privacy. Located approx. 1 km from the nearest public road, at the end of a small partly unpaved road with only 2 other lodgings/homes along. Absolutely no environmental noise and only a view of the green mountains around. The house itself is quite authentic, which also entails some inconveniences: kitchen and dining room are small and not so practical for larger groups, but they do have everything necessary. The first bathroom downstairs is quite recent and beautiful, the second bathroom upstairs is not quite worthy of the name bathroom: toilet with sink and a half bath/shower that you cannot stand or sit in as a slightly larger adult. Walls and ceilings have a lot everywhere cracks and crevices through which you regularly see ants or small insects walking in the rooms and bathrooms. At the large swimming pool there is sufficient space and there are plenty of sun loungers. The renovated shower and toilet by the pool are an added value and we use the most of all bathrooms! The large terrace is perfect for bbq's while the children play around the table. Although a slightly more comfortable table and chairs would be useful to A few extra chairs around the second table would also be useful, so that the whole group can sit together.Together, we and our children have had a fantastic week here, despite the minor inconveniences.
Beautiful villa in a beautiful location, very quiet (1 km from the nearest road), nice view. Lovely swimming pool (although it had to be heated for the kids, despite the heat). The house has a lot of character. It is large enough for 10, with five bedrooms, spacious dining room and huge terrace. Antique, tasteful decor. A minus point, which is actually not a minus point: the creaky, old wooden floors of the rooms on the floor, so that those who slept downstairs often woke up. But that also had its charm .... All facilities for kitchen and laundry are present.The reception by the manager in the nearby village was excellent, very welcoming and helpful. For shopping you have to drive a few kilometers, but that was no problem. Korto9m: had a wonderful holiday.

The house is situated on a secluded road on a hill with a beautiful view. Very large house with enough space and a wonderful swimming pool! We had a very good time! We also made a few visits that were definitely worth the effort. We look back on our vacation with a good feeling :)
