The holiday home is located in the cozy village of Kötschach-Mauthen, at the sunny end of the Gail Valley, where Austria, Italy, and Slovenia nearly meet. Surrounded by imposing mountains and fresh air, this part of Carinthia—just under 9 km from the Italian border—offers both sports enthusiasts and holiday fans exactly what they are looking for.

In close proximity to the house, the slopes of the Kötschach-Mauthen ski area begin, a small but charming ski area with 6 km of pistes and 37 km of perfectly maintained cross-country ski trails. Within 25 to 45 minutes by car or via the free ski bus (about 300 m from the house), you can also reach larger ski areas such as Nassfeld-Hermagor (110 km), Zettersfeld in the Lienzer Dolomites (21 km), and Golzentipp in Obertilliach (12 km).

Kötschach-Mauthen is part of the Nassfeld-Pressegger See region, a paradise for hikers and cyclists. Explore the 25 themed trails of the ‘Hike World’, unwind in the Aquarena, or take a dip in the idyllic Waldbad Mauthen.
